Morphoneotectonics of the Abruzzo Periadriatic Area (Central Italy): Morphometric Analysis and Morphological Evidence of Tectonics Features

Drainage basin-scale morphometric analysis and morphological evidence of tectonics represent helpful tools to evaluate investigate morphoneotectonic processes in tectonically active regions. In this perspective, we applied an integrated the Abruzzo Periadriatic Area, between Tronto Sinello rivers (Central Italy). It involved analysis, structural geomorphological field mapping, detailed fluvial terraces. Geomorphic indexes markers (e.g., Irta, SL index, ksn, knickpoints) were used study detect response landscapes drainage systems’ unsteadiness tectonic deformation processes, possibly induced by ongoing activity buried structures. Furthermore, investigation tectonics, with terraces’ spatial temporal arrangement, was performed assign relative, geomorphologically-based, age constraints landscape evolution. The resulting data allowed us define domains affected different morphostructural related impact five detected families elements (S1, F1, F2, F3, F4), mainly characterized compressive, extensional, transtensive kinematics. Finally, could a scientific basis for integrating morphometric, fluvial, geomorphology better main phases evolution on environments uplifting piedmont areas.
